LBPR’s Lisa Burling mum wins bronze nationally at
2018 AusMumpreneur Awards
Lisa Burling, Managing Director of award-winning PR consultancy LBPR based in the Illawarra, has been has been named AusMumpreneur “Rising Star” Award third place getter nationally out of 14 finalists and thousands of entries.
This category recognises exceptional first-time business owners who have been in business for 2 – 5 years, and the awards are all about recognising the growing number of mums who are achieving outstanding business success while balancing motherhood.
Lisa comments on this latest recognition: “While in Melbourne for the Ausmumpreneur conference and awards, I had the privilege of connecting with mums from all over Australia who are pursuing entrepreneurial endeavours whilst raising a family. The calibre of finalists was awe-inspiring to say the least; many of these ladies are household names. To be a finalist myself was truly amazing, but to come third nationally in the Rising Star category was a dream come true. I was so proud to represent the Illawarra region.”
Lisa continues: “I hope this outcome will inspire other women, especially single mums, to know they can be and do anything, if they’re willing to work hard and never give up. The awards really are 0.01% of what entrepreneurs actually do; behind the trophies and glamourous outfits are hours of dedication, lack of sleep, and a constant need to believe in yourself, regardless of what’s going on around you.”
This is the ninth year the AusMumpreneur Awards have run, with the business mum community growing at lightning speed as mothers look for opportunities to join the ranks of small business owners in search of more flexibility, financial freedom and family time.
AusMumpreneur Network co-founder Katy Garner said: “The awards show the passion of women who want to fulfil their entrepreneurial dreams as well as be great mums.
“The number of women starting businesses continues to grow and we received thousands of nominations this year! We are proud to be the number one community for mumpreneurs and be able to showcase the best and the brightest each year through these awards. We are creating new initiatives every year to help Australian Mums achieve their business dreams.”
“We are delighted that Lisa has won this award, she has an outstanding business and is an inspirational role model and ambassador for mums in business everywhere. We wish her and all our amazing Ausmumpreneur Award winners every success in the coming year,” AusMumpreneur Network co-founder Peace Mitchell said.
The AusMumpreneur Awards presented by The AusMumpreneur Network celebrate Australian Mums in business achieving outstanding success in areas such as business excellence, product development, customer service and digital innovation. The awards are designed to applaud the growing number of women who successfully balance motherhood and business in a way that suits their life and family.
The winners of the 2018 AusMumpreneur Awards were announced at a glamorous Awards dinner at White Night Receptions in Melbourne on Friday 31 August.
