Lisa Burling is a journalist and PR professional with over 20 years' experience working on some of the world's biggest brands in Australia and the UK. In 2013, a chain of devastating events resulted in her being an unemployed, single mum of two boys under three. While in the Centrelink queue wondering how this was her reality, she decided to set up a business.Most people thought she was crazy.Three years later, Lisa is the Managing Director of award-winning PR, media and events consultancy LBPR. With extensive PR, media and event management experience spanning the private sector, local government, consultancies and charitable organisations, Lisa has led award-winning strategic global and domestic PR campaigns to support leading consumer brands across a range of sectors In February 2016, Lisa launched Australian-first CATALYST in collaboration with the University of Wollongong, a student consultancy giving final year PR students' true "hands-on experience" before officially entering the PR industry. Lisa spent over a decade in the UK building her career after graduating from Charles Sturt University, Bathurst with a degree in Communications, majoring in broadcast journalism and public relations, and has a Chartered Institute of Marketing qualification from the London Business School.
Tabitha Galvin is a marketing and communications professional with extensive experience in strategy development and digital initiatives, having worked in agencies and organisations in both the public and private sectors.Tabitha graduated from the University of Wollongong with a Bachelor of Commerce in hand and headed to Sydney to work at Clemenger BBDO, a global advertising agency, as part of their highly acclaimed graduate program alongside six other successful university graduates from across Australia. She worked on advertising campaigns for national and international brands including Bupa, FedEx, Wriggleys and Foxtel.In 2011 Tabitha returned to Wollongong to a subsidiary of the University of Wollongong that managed the marketing and student recruitment for the UOW College and International Film School Sydney, responsible for managing all facets of marketing, advertising and student recruitment.From the University, Tabitha leapt into Destination Wollongong as the Brand and Marketing Manager. Working on strategy development and creating innovative digital tactics, Tabitha led the Destination Wollongong team into the digital space, implementing tactics that are the forefront of destination marketing in the tourism industry and enjoying record-breaking visitation figures for the region.In July 2016 Tabitha joined the LBPR team as the Deputy Managing Director and is enjoying every minute.
