LBPR Wins Digital and Social Category at the Public Relations Institute of Australia State Awards

Lisa Burling and Tabitha GalvinLBPR, an Australian marketing and public relations consultancy, has won a Public Relations Institute of Australia State Award for a campaign it coordinated for the first cruise ship to visit Wollongong, New South Wales.

LBPR took out the Digital and Social Media Campaign Award at the 2017 Public Relations Institute of Australia Awards for its Radiance of the Seas Digital Campaign.

Managing director Lisa Burling is ecstatic to win against competition such as the campaign around the home release of X-Men Apocalypse: History Will Be Kind.

“To receive industry recognition in a category representing the future of our industry is an achievement we are immensely proud of. Thank you Destination Wollongong team for giving us the opportunity to flex our digital and social media muscles to deliver an award-wining campaign,” she said.

The campaign around the historic arrival of Radiance of the Seas in October 2016 involved the expertise of LBPR deputy managing director Tabitha Galvin. “This campaign with Destination Wollongong promoted the arrival of Wollongong’s very first cruise ship, harnessing the power of social media, digital influencers and a passionate local community to project the excitement of this momentous occasion to Australia and the world”.

The Public Relations Institute of Australia (PRIA) coordinates an annual industry award program called the Golden Target Awards and the win means LBPR now goes on to the national awards final at the Sydney Opera House on November 9.
